BullheadCity is located in Arizona´s west-central MohaveCounty, on the east bank of the beautiful Colorado River. The Tri-State area is where parts of Arizona, Nevada and California all come together bringing unique flavors and finds from each part to one location all with the Colorado River in common. BullheadCity is located across the Colorado River from one of the nation´s most popular gaming communities: Laughlin, Nevada. The year-round sunshine makes it perfect for families, retirees and vacationers - whether they are looking to escape the winter cold or want to enjoy the area´s vast summer water recreation opportunities.
Water sports on the Colorado River, hiking, off-road vehicle sports, hunting, exploring ghost towns, rock hounding and prospecting are just a few of the recreational activities available in the neighboring desert around Bullhead City.
Originally established in the 1940s as the headquarters for the construction of Davis Dam, which impounds LakeMohave in the Lake Mead National Recreation Area, BullheadCity has evolved into a year-round vacation community.
Mohave Valley and Fort Mojave are located on the Colorado River, at the western edge of Arizona. We are bordered on the west by the states of Nevada and California, and on the east by the Black Mountains of Arizona; located in what is generally referred to as the low desert, an area of warmth and sun, low relative humidity and scant rainfall. This virtually smog-free, dry and hot climate creates a very desirable environment for the residents of the area.
The Mojave Indians resisted the stream of migrants drawn west by the California gold rush. The resulting conflicts led to the establishment of FortMojave, in 1859.The fort was disbanded in 1890. Today, the valley is still a prosperous place, and the Fort Mojave Tribe is, once again, a major player. The tribe is still farming, but they also own several public utility companies, casinos, convenience stores, gas stations, RV parks, a golf course, and new home subdivisions.
Golden Shores / Topock is nestled alongside the Arizona Colorado River where people who love the outdoors can enjoy such sports as fishing, hunting, boating, off-roading and birdwatching.
